The Access Route to the new development
Whilst our primary concern is the protection of Greenbelt and we rarely, if ever, get ourselves embroiled with planning applications to be made on 'infill' or brownbelt, an ITPAS member brought this application to our attention together with the likely problems it may cause to existing neighbouring properties.
A similar application was made several years ago and subsequently rejected. More recently (October 2005), an application was made to build two large detached houses in the rear gardens of 77 & 79 Thingwall Road, Irby, CH61 3UB. (National Grid Ref. Application No. 20057277 refers. Click here to view the plans.
ITPAS objected to this application on the grounds that, in perspective, it was a large scale development, the results of which could have serious consequences to houses at the rear who would be affected by the much larger buildings, out of proportion to the neighbouring bungalows. We also expressed concerns at the plans for drainage, which were to be purely on soakaway! This application has been refused by the Planning Department.
However, we now have a new application for three bungalows (Wirral Planning Application Number :- 20057544). We still feel this is excessive development for the area. ITPAS have therefore made further objections and observations in respect of this planning application.
