Our best ever?
6th June saw our new format AGM at St Chads Hall with nearly 60 people who came along to support this important annual event. The new format meant we got off to a prompt 7.30pm start, had the small amount of formal business done in 5 minutes then sat back to watch our DVD review of the year which topics included:-
The DVD also included graphical flyovers (courtesy of "Google Earth") as we moved from area to area. We added an interview with two of our members in which we asked them to introduce themselves, explain how they came to be a part of ITPAS, what the most important function is and where they felt we should be going in the future. Interestingly enough, they both independently agreed that the Greenbelt and membership should be our priorities. We finished with a brief overview of some of the other issues we have dealt with in the last year and some music and photographs that we have shown as part of our "Window on West Wirral" on the ITPAS homepage. What did you think of the DVD review of the year? Fill in our feedback form After the review of the year, members were allowed to stretch their legs and have a look round at some of the stands that had been put up by other societies with whom we have close contact.
This included Lesley Brockbank of the Wirral & Cheshire Badger group who had lots of information and a couple of lovely looking (stuffed) badgers, who had sadly been victims of road kill...
Staff from Irby library kindly came along to tell us all that is going on and the hard work they are continuing to do in order to keep this much needed facility open...
The Wirral Barn Owl Trust had a magnificent display outlining the important work they are continuing with throughout the year...
The Wirral Footpaths & Open Spaces Preservation Society also kindly came along to tell members about their important projects and events...
After our wander around all the display stands, we returned to our seats for an excellent and most informative talk on the little known, but most important work of the Merseyside Police Wildlife Officer - someone known to most of us from the Barn Owl Trust - Steve Harris.
This concluded with our raffle draw that took place to assist a young ITPAS member on her plight to Kenya as part of a Animal welfare conservation project. Once again, many thanks to all who came along. What did you think of the evening as a whole? click here to fill in our feedback form.
