Irby Library celebrated its 40th Birthday in 2004. This was marked with a number of activities particularly for children. However, ITPAS felt we should do something to make a permanent mark for the occasion, after all, along with other local libraries, it has been threatened with closure over the years. So we decided to plant some bulbs - 8000 to be precise! Click on the thumbnails below to see a larger image. We involved children from both Irby's Primary schools - Coombe Road Primary school and Dawpool Church of England school who both make regular visits to the library, hopefully their visits will be brightened up in the Spring. You can also see staff from the Library and both schools, our ITPAS committee members Alan Butterworth & Mollie Rogers and workers from Wirral Borough Council's Parks & Gardens Dept. Thanks to all involved. Would you like to comment on this article? email us For more details and events, go to our Irby Library page
