Here we have some links to other websites that we feel will be of interest to ITPAS members. There are many sites of interest both locally and further afield. To assist your navigation, we have divided the links to other websites into catergories; Local Interest, Local Government and our newest feature - webcams, all of which, we are confident will be of interest to you at some time or other. 

If you would like us to feature your website, then contact our webmaster with all the relevant information about you and your site.

To look at planning applications you will have to know the planning application number i.e. 2005???? or conduct your own search within the Wirral Borough Council's pages. In the event of any major application affecting our area, we will insert a direct link to the relevant pages. So feel free to click on any of the links below, but don't forget us - or save us in your favourites!!

Local Sites of Interest

Wirral Barn Owl Trust learn about these fascinating birds and even become a member and help a useful charity that is actively trying to prevent the decline of Wirral's Barn Owls. Also see our featured article about Wirral barn Owl's as ITPAS have sponored our own nesting boxes!

 

Wirral Country Park Friends Group are a strong up coming committee of local people from various aspects of usage of the Wirral Way and visitor centre including horse riders, cyclists, ramblers and of course ITPAS! It has a growing Wirral wide membership for support and we recommend you show your support and join this local friends group to encourage them in their quest to improve this beautiful area.

 

Wirral Coastal Walk organised by the Rotary Club of North Wirral, the walk has thousands of participants who collectively raise hundreds of thousands in cash for numerous local, national and international charities. The walk takes place in May and finishes here in Thurstaston.

 

Dee Estuary Birding More of our feathered friends - learn about the latest sightings, bird counts and photo's.

 

Parish of Irby & Thurstaston Find out about the activities of our Parish. Lots of information and an excellent historical resource.

 

The Wirral Society A non-political environmental watchdog, with the object of protecting the natural beauty, architecture, flora and fauna of the Wirral Peninsula.

 

Wirral Footpaths & Open Spaces Preservation Society formed in 1888 and works to preserve our footpath and open space heritage.

 

Friends of Storeton Woods work very closely with the Woodland Trust to conserve and protect the area for future generations to enjoy. A very active group with a very informative website.

 

The Rotary Club of North Wirral meet at Heatherlands Court, Thurstaston Road every Monday night. They are responsible for raising money for charities both here on the Wirral and at an International level. They also organise the Wirral Arts festival and the Wirral Coastal Walk where around 5000 walkers finish each year here in Thurstaston having raised around £300,000.00 for about 600 local & national charities!

 

Campaign to Protect Rural England are people who care passionately about our countryside and campaign for it to be protected and enhanced for the benefit of everyone. The countryside is one of England's most important resources but its beauty, tranquillity and diversity are threatened in many different ways.

 

Thurstaston Station - a model railway depicting Thurstaston station and much information and photos on the history of the line to present day. A very informative and developing site with some interesting history and photos.

 

West Kirby Renewal - with lots going on here including plans to build a hotel on the waterfront and a golf resort near Hoylake. Find out more by visiting this website.

 

Greasby History - this is a well informed website with lots of articles about local history, very well illustrated with photos and drawings both new and old. Well worth a visit regardless of whether you have a local interest or not!

Wirral Libraries Recently awarded the Chartermark for its quality of service to customers, find out what's going on at libraries across The Wirral including our own at Pensby & Irby or you can view all the information on our own pages at Irby Library or Pensby Library.

 

Visit Wirral is Wirral's own tourism web site and whether you live local or further afield, there's plenty of information. You can request brochures and sign up to receive regular info for News and Happenings in Wirral.

West Kirby Marine Lake - Go to the Wirral Cams website where you can select a number of views from different cameras!
