Planning Application

By way of update, we can tell you there has been lots of activity behind the scenes by ITPAS and numerous other groups..... read August update..

June 2007 - The long awaited planning application has now been submitted in respect of this site. Whilst this is a request for Outline Planning Permission, it will no doubt have been submitted to gauge public opinion.

Whilst a new medical centre will certainly benefit some sections of our community, there are those to whom this will be a clear disadvantage. Amongst one or two other issues, it is to those people, the elderly and perhaps some younger folks with children who only have access to one or no cars, we will be considering most. Of course this does not preclude the fact that proposed development land IS in Green Belt and of course the potential knock-on effect this may have on traders in Irby Village.

To give you an idea about more of the area, we have reproduced the relevant section of our AGM Video review of the year.....

If granted, for some, it may be a shiny new Medical Centre just down the road and just having to drive your car a little further, but for many, it will also mean it is inaccessible! The closure of the Irby Surgery, we believe, will also have a knock-on affect on local traders.

Whatever your view, we need to think of the bigger picture - not just how it may affect you, but how it will affect our community. Most important of all, this area is...

GREEN BELT

When the gates open for one, then many could manoeuvre into position and make equally justified applications to build on Green Belt.

To this end, we are still perplexed why the PCT did not spend some money investigating other possible sites including the other side of The Warrens, where there is less greenery and a natural access point off Arrowe Park Road!

Even more trust has been lost with the PCT who had promised to keep ITPAS informed of all activity in respect of this matter. A recent public meeting was hardly publicised and now this application has been made without any other form of notification! Shame on those who knew of its impending submission!

This of course means we only have a very short time to submit any comments. The ITPAS committee will be meeting shortly to discuss our plans further, but in the meantime, if you feel strongly about this matter, you should submit your own personal comments.

NO! - It's not the shabby site where the Greenhouses lay redundant - YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE PROPOSED SITE IN THE ABOVE PHOTO!
