Tinkers Dell

Improved Access returned

The new steps at 'Tinkers Dell'

November '06

It didn't seem that long ago that the access from the cliffs to the beach at Tinkers Dell were completely closed off due to the rapid erosion of the cliffs at this and other points along the shoreline.

Thanks to hard work by the Wirral Country Park Rangers, a completely new path with steps and safety rail were built into the gully affording public access once more.

Unfortunately, due to the dangerous outcrop of boulder clay near to the steps, they were forced to close them off again!

This all changed last week when a large JCB was brought over from Liverpool - so large, it couldn't fit through the Mersey Tunnel and had to take the Runcorn Bridge!!

Thanks again to the actions of the Rangers for re-opening the access making much more of this beautiful area more accessible to walkers and visitors.
